I just bought a 98 caravan 3.0l for my sister who needs a minivan, it had a bad motor, so i bought a used engine, put it in, and it has no oil pressure, well very very little, havent check it with gauge, but when i look in valve cover, you can just barely see any oil in there moving. Also you can hear the valves clicking bad because not enough oil. Also the water pump is leaking like crazy. Any ideas, am i going to have to put a new oil pump in it, and if so how hard is it to do. i not a mechanic, but do know alot about working on them, just never changed a oil pump on a caravan. i know i will have to put a new water pump on it, and timing belt. but is it worth puting a oil pump on too, or should i just find another used engine. any help would be great. my sister doesnt have much money to spend so triing to help her out and probaly be paying for all this myself, so triing to do it as cheaply as possible, i do have the old engine that came out that the oil pump should be good in.

Sounds like a lot of work but if you can use the old oil pump, you might as well put that in (if you know it's good). What have to got to lose except a couple of hours of work.
