99 Grand Caravan Sport 3.8 bought new, have an intermitten problem that has occurred only twice in the last few months. Motor will turn over and cut right off, gauages such as tach, etc. do not move. The next day it will start right up no problems. No other problems with vehicle, good battery, fuses look fine, etc. I do not drive the van every day so the problem could happen more often if we used it everyday. Problem is we never know when it will not start. Happens when motor is cold first time start or when already hot. After a few tries starting motor will not turn over or start at all.

check your battery connections as they should be tight and free of corosion. Also an ignition switch could also be a problem if you happen to have 700 keys on your car keys..

Will recheck battery connectins and clean posts, have only two keys on key ring no weight as I have heard extra weight on ignition is bad. If all other lights and accessories still work could it still be the battery. I have heard that it could be the ignition switch, does bad switch affect only the instrument panel gauges?
