My salesman just called to let me know that I can order accessories now. He told me that the local police who are currently driving Intrepids are going to get new Magnums. The Supervisors are going to get R/Ts and everyone else will be getting SXTs. What do you think? It kind of makes sense, but I'm not quite sure I like it for some reason. What do ya'll think? :confused:

Sounds like the supervisors are the only ones chasin' the bad guys.Hopefully they'll all get the Hemis.I guess they don't need the real nice trim packages but they definately could use the 5.7L.
What accessories are ya' getting? I'm interested in seeing how people are gonna customize these cars.I think there's alot of room to do some really cool things with it.

Here in Windsor Ontario the police have an Magnum RT on order for an unmarked traffic car. They are also doing a Dodge SRT10 pickup and a Ford Lightning pickup for unmarked traffic vehicles. I expect that they will start to install the emergency equipment on the Magnum in early June as they want it for display at the Ontario Chiefs of Police Conference being held here at the end of the month (June). I'll send pictures as the installation of the emergency equipment begins. I hope to purchase a number of Magnums in the next 12 months for use as EMS Supervisory vehicles & Paramedic Rapid Response Units. THese will be in addition to our 2003 Dodge B2500 Quad Cab 4X4 Diesel pickup, a 1999 Durango & 1999 Dodge Caravan.
You know, I've thought about this and now I don't really mind Magnums as police cars. I talked to a friend of mine who's a Deputy with the local Sheriff's Department and he asked me why I bought a Magnum..... it does everything I need it to do; it's fast, it's comfortable, it carries alot of stuff and it's fun to drive. Then I realized, cops spend more time in their cars than I do, why shouldn't they drive something better than an Intrepid or a tired old Crown Vic. It makes sense to drive a car as good as a Magnum. More Power to them! (Hemi power that is.) I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the mods for EMS use. By the way, thanks for all you do for those of us not brave enough to deal with destruction daily. You're a better man than I.
