Well as for what i have is a trailer hitch by hidden hitch.. A simple bolt on .. to my 98 caravan. Well the 4 bolts needed for the job are already on the van.. well I just saw a video for an 02 caravan which required him to remove 1 bolt and replace with a stud to put a nut on after..? has anyone done this job.. I thought taking all 4 bolts out and install hitch and be done.. but apperently it holds something together causing to do 2 bolts at a time. any tips is much appreciated

i have install many hitches on van the directions that comes with it are very easy, like you said all the bolts are already there u might have to add a few but you may need a pry bar though

ya all bolts are there but on a website etrailer.com they showed that I have to replace the rear 2 bolts with studs and I cant tell what these 2 bolts are are spporting from the start.. my thing is I would remove all 4 bolts at once then place hitch in place and reinstall.. but for some reason I need to install a stud and put a nut on it.. but no idea why

probably just better support for the hitch to make sure it is strong

no not really it so the rear bumper reienforcement bar stays in one spot during installation.. just that the stud they use in the video ... I dont have here is a link to the video showing what to do
