'02 Grand Caravan.

The other day wife was driving the van and had the door ajar light and chimes. It showed the rear door was ajar. She tried opening and closing it several times with no luck. Interior lights stayed on. Drove it home. I checked it after work and there was no problems. She drove it for a few days. Yesterday she went to leave and the battery was dead. Jumped it and all is good again. It's at a garage now but they don't see anything wrong. Anyone have this problem before? I'm thinking something might be going wrong with the remote opener but that's only a guess. IT's been at the garage since yesterday afternoon and it's all good. She's going to drop off the remote to see what happens.

could be the latch itself for the rear hatch, it may be working fine but internally not switching the signal when the hatch is closed or open. just a thought
