I am about to install new 3:55 gears in my 08 Challenger. The Diablo U7135 will change the settings so the car doesnt fall into limp mode, but its expensive because its a multi purpose tuner. Does anyone know of any other tuners on the market that will reset the ratio so the car runs properly.

I really don't know much about aftermarket controllers. I am presuming you have an automatic with the 3.06 and want to boost performance with a 3.55. My thoughts would be, why not go to 3.92 or even lower? All in all there is a lot less of a jump from 3.06 to 3.55 than what you may thing.

But regardless of gear ratio, I wonder if the dealer could simply re-flash the computer? I understand all automatics have the 3.06 regardless of tire size so there would not be a computer change that could be done. The 6 speed computer ain't gonna work.

Thanks for the comments Bob. I found out the Hypertech tuner will do the trick. As a fyi the automatic can only be upgraded to 3.23 or 3.55, anything higher is too much for the tranny.
Cheers

Yeah, I'd never go higher, only lower. They should offer the 3.92 with LSD on the auto. The 3.06 is stupid. 3.55 is not much of a jump from 3.06. 3.92 or 4.10 would be much easier on the trans and give some real power/acceleration increase.

I would get the Diablo because you can dissable the stupid MDS, give it a firmer shift and a lot or other changes when and if needed.
And in a few months you will not say to your self, Man I should of got a different tuner with more options in it.
This is the first thing I plan on purchasing along with a Airade intake for my Challenger if they ever build it. ;)

You're right, I should have bought the Diablo because I would like to play with my shift points. The new gears are in along with a new cold air intake system and its like a new car. I should be ok for the summer and will probably start playing with the shift points over the winter when Im looking for something to do...

Muscleman ,what all did you have to do to switch the gears, I talked to the guys at my local dealership and they told me I'd have to change the half shafts to change them. They coudn't just swap the gears. I got mopar cold air and magnaflow cat back. Got the Diablo, installed the cold air tune and played with the shift points and my car went 12.82 at 111mph made a big difference. Last week added the Dynatech long tube headers and high flow cats. I haven't had a chance to get to the track yet. Bob is right the 3.06 is stupid don't know what they were thinking.

I have been looking for a CAI too.
As much as I hate K&N I may just purchase their drop in air filter until Airaid comes out with a CAI.
