Quick question...If I remove the "Durango" and "Dodge" lettering from the body are there locating holes left behind? I know they used to clip into holes that held everything in place but now a lot of 3m tape is used.
Thanks! Tim
PS. This forum is GREAT! Glad I found it! :rck:

Hey Tim,
There's just 3m tape holding those badges on. But there might be locator holes for the "V8 Magnum" badge on the front fenders. I'm not sure about that, cause my truck didn't come with 'em. But I think I read that there are holes on that particular badge.
Good luck, HTH

I'm sure they are all held on by tape, but just to be sure take a peek behind the inside of the fender to be sure.

Hey, I am glad someone put up a post on this... The laminate is starting to fall off of my Dodge and Durango badges. At first is was just going to buy new ones but at 45 some dollars a pop I think that it would be easyer to take them off. Its starting to look pretty bad. :SHK:
What is the best way to take off the badges ??? I am just worried that some of the paint might come off in the process. And I dont want to be looking into a few hundred dollars in repainting.
Thanks,

fishing line, dental floss, and a hair dryer. Heat up the emblems so that the tape breaks down a bit and they will come off smoother. Good luck!

They said fishing line not finishing line man. You can get that at your local fishing supplies store.

I shaved the dodge a few weeks back. " Sounds funny"
2001 4.7l durango SLt. I used a heat gun and some dental floss. Worked awesome. I needed a little Wd40 for a little bit of the left over glue. Take your time and watch the heat doesn't get to hot. You could also use a hair dryer if it is on the stronger side. Torango!!

I think it just depends on how much chrome your planning on having. a lot of chrome badges look good. no chrome=shave em.... it all boils down to what you like. I still have mine.
