Does anyone know what the bolt pattern for the 09 Rams is?

Thanks in advance,

- Alex

No problem. That's what this forum is all about.

Since the bolt pattern is 5X5.5, what would the correct offset and backspace be? I am looking at a set of XD Hoss wheels and they come in either -12 offset and 4.53 backspace or +18 ofset and 5.71 backspace. My intentions are to go with a leveling kit and 33X12.5X20 Toyo M/T/ tires. Which wheel should I go with? I see most guys say that +18 is the correct offset but the black quad cab on cardomain that has the 6" BDS lift is running the Cannon's and the best I can tell, they only offer them in -25 offset with 4.52 backspace. Thanks for the help.

Stock wheels are 9" wide and zero offset with 4.5 inches of backspacing.

So with the stock wheels being 0 offset and 4.5 backspace, would the -12 offset and 4.53 backspace XD wheels I'm looking at work? I obviously don't want them to rub or hit anything but I also don't want them sticking way out. Thanks

how wide are they?

20X9 according to XD's website. They don't show a 20X10

Seems to me that with 4.53 inches of backspacing on a 9 inch wide wheel you would have just about the same configuration as the stock wheels. They should work fine.

cool, so the backspacing is more important than the offset?

Both are important. I think the wheels you are looking at have a very small difference from stock and should be fine.

Here is an interesting article on the subject:

i always thought the stock backspacing was like 5.7 inches on the 20s. im confused??

Well, I could be wrong... But....I know the stock wheels are 9 inches wide and there is zero offset.... Therefore the only possible answer is backspacing of 4.5....

im not sure either and i have the 20s but havent measured the wheel by taking it off. but the mounting surface is not centered in between the wheel which made me think it was a bigger backspace. where did you hear about 0 offset?. i just figured they were the same as the older 20s with 5.7 bs and a positive offset 17+ or 18+ i think. not sure

Well, dang...

Now I am not sure at all what the stock size and backspacing was. I am starting to wonder if I have too much negative offset on my aftermarket wheels.

I have been looking all over the internet to find the factory backspacing and offset, but to no avail......

Sorry if I misled anybody.

I'm pretty sure you want the +18 offset. I ordered a set of KMC XD wheels for my truck two weeks ago, and they also were available in either a -12 or +18 offset. I told the tire dealer I wanted them to be as close to stock offset as possible, and he seemed really confident in the fact that I needed the +18 offset. Unfortunately KMC sent us a set of wheels for a 3/4 ton truck, and they showed up yesterday. We re-ordered the wheels for my 1/2 ton truck, and should receive them perhaps by tomorrow. The tire store is going to buy back my stock tires, so we will be taking the tires off the stock wheels and I can measure backspacing when I pick up the stock wheels.

For what it is worth, backspacing is measured from the mounting surface of the wheel to the back edge of the wheel. Offset is measured from the centerline of the wheel to the mounting surface of the wheel. A 9" wide wheel is more than 9" wide, because the 9" width is measured from bead mounting surface to bead mounting surface, not from outside edge to outside edge. So if a 9" wide wheel had an offset of 0, it would not have a backspacing of 4.5". It would have a backspacing of 4.5" plus the distance from the bead mounting surface to the back edge of the wheel. I would think that a 9" wide wheel with 0 offset would have backspacing of about 4.75" +/-.
