i just purchased a 98 stratus 2 weeks ago and was driving along and the car lost all power and the rpms went to o and the car died. After letting it set for a few minutes it started then died 2 minutes later. We have already replaced fuel filter, and temp sensor. Any ideas on what is wrong?

check your ALT. put in a good battery then start your car while the car is running remove the possitive poll of the battery if your car stalls then replace your altenator it means that the altenator is not working. If your car still runs after doing that then check your injectors and injector plugs make sure their making good contact let me know. I have experience everything with this dam stratus im living it right now lol.

Please don't run the test that FLYSTRATUS recommends. If your alternator is good, it won't be after doing that. Instead, check that the battery posts are clean and the battery has water (if not maint-free). If you suspect the alternator, idle the engine with the headlights on and have an assistant tap the gas pedal. If the headlights flare brighter, then the alternator is good. Do what LB recommends (plug wires) and if that doesn't fix it, check for computer codes and if none, check for vacuum leaks.
