I have completed laying out my new aftermarket wiring harness for the 72 and am now at the point of making the final connections. So, I am at the rear tail lights, and wondering if you guys that have redone this bought new connectors for the rear lamps or just spliced into the existing connectors. Also, if you did buy them, where did you find them at? Thanks

I re-wired my truck but have not done the tail lights yet because the box is still off. In my case the EOM connectors are in rough shape. I have a bunch of leftover Deutsch connectors from a business I used to have and I plan on using them.
Metri Pack makes a decent connector as well and they are not as expensive. Both connectors are sealed. With either connector you have to have the right crimping tool though.

Which model type do I need? I know its a pretty in depth question since there are a few connections back there, but just wondering if you knew off the top of your head. Thanks.

Greg, I redid my back end wiring last spring and used these for the lights:

Here's the link where I bought them online:

These aren't bad quality--16 gauge wire, copper strands are tinned for extra durability and they solder very easily. Crimp, solder, and shrink-tube those puppies on there, use a little dielectric grease on the male pins of the connectors, and you should be golden. I presume you're encasing everything in split-loom, too.
