Hey all,
I'm hoping some one knows about this vehicle. After searching on other dodge forums and too many search engines I haven't been able to come up with much information regarding the 1979 Dodge Adventurer 150 with the 360 in it. I recently bought this truck (link below)

It was completely rebuilt and done out until my best friends step father bought it and let it sit for 4 years. Once I had a good job and saved up some extra money I bought it from him to bring it back. The engine is still in mint condition with around 30,000km on the rebuild. Started first turn over and drove it home with little to no problems. I have to replace the front tires because when they were refilled with air they were cracked. The backs are fine. The lights have moments where they completely shut off! So I'm looking for the ground. I'm hoping to find some one who knows there way around this truck so I'm not screwing anything up. Is there anything I should know about these 360's? and should I post more pictures, including the engine? Any help would be well appreciated.

welcome to DT..I would say that as problems arise to just ask...alot of folks here are very knowledgeable on these rigs. View the stickies above your post and i would say find the one on Bherders ammeter bypass....if it were there...so do a search on his posts.

Wow! NICE rig m'man!!

The lights have moments where they completely shut off! So I'm looking for the ground.

Without going into my whole 'installing relays' thing, I can almost guarantee you it's the headlight switch. They're easy to replace. With one hand up under the dash, feel around mid-way on the bottom of the switch. You find a little button that you need to push in. With your other hand, pull the dash knob out. Now you can unscrew the switch bezel with a screwdriver and remove/replace the switch.
I'll bet you a box of doughnuts, that the old switch will be full of crusty white crud. ;) A new switch and you'll be good to go.

So far as grounding, when you have the time, and because this is a 30 year old truck, I would make a POINT of cleaning/fortifying any and all grounds. 9 times out of 10 (Especially on our ol' Mopars) electrical probs are because of poor/dirty/neglected grounds. Special attention needs to be paid to:
Battery to engine
Battery to body/frame
Engine to body/frame
Cab to bed
Starter relay to body
Wiper motor to body
Voltage reg to body
Ignition module to body
Lights (Brake/turn signal/ running/sidemarker)

And not 'just' a ground, but a thorough cleaning of the bulkhead connections on the firewall ....

Once you get all that done, we'll get into all the other stuff.. :D :D :D

heh wow man thanks a lot, I'm gonna go out right now and take out the headlight switch. My father in-law just bought a shop and we take posetion at the begining of next month! So I'll be able to do a whole lot more! I'll get back to you in a few to tell you about the head light switch!

So I had a little bit of trouble! So I thought the best way to get help is to show you it exactly and hopefully you can use paint or tell me something more in detail. The last thing I owed that was this old school was a 77 caprice. So rather then break some thing like I did on that thing I'd rather ask for some help!

So where is this button? once I get the dash knob out I'm sure I can get everything else out.. lol hopefully
