Ok, so my eight-year-old daughter names every vehicle we have. This one is a Laramie, so it got named Larry. She also names the deer that come into our yard and many of her stuffed animals (as required).
Nonetheless, I put the truck to real work this weekend. This was a lot of weight between the trailer and the Bobcat, but Larry handles it fine. Gas mileage was bad with the trailer empty, and much worse with the Bobcat, but pulling around was no issue. The truck squatted a little more than I would've hoped, but regardless, still capable. I wouldn't want this truck for this kind of load everyday, but for the occasional need that I have, it did just fine.

Nice picture of Larry and the Bobcat, my question is how bad is bad in terms of gas mileage towing?

Me too, how bad? That trailor doesen't look lite by looking at it lol how much does that bob cat weight?
My neighbors 07 hemi ram was loaded down with 4 atvs, one in the bed, and it was squatting more then that. Also had a lot lot and lot of gear squeezed in the bed like gas and camping gear.
I estimate 3000lbs the least, but the squatting on his truck could of been all the weight in the bed too.

An S130 tips in at 5,200+ lbs. Trailer I would guess around 1,000 to 1,500. Thats a good load! Doesn't squat too bad. I would suspect that there is at least 500 lbs of tounge weight on there for sure.
Airlift makes airbags from the 09's that only runs about 75 bucks for the kit. I have the same style of kit for our Honda Pilot and they work great to minimize squatting. They put you back into 'feeling' in control of loads that are in the 75% range of capacity.

Well, that trailer is more like 2500 lbs according to the guy that loaned it to me. In total we estimated around 8,000. I didn't have the bobcat behind for long, but the computer in the truck was showing 10.3 mpg :( (I reset it when I picked up the bobcat).
Definitely not something I want to do much, but the bobcat was only on the trailer for a total of about 30 miles. Larry did just fine, and proved to me anyway that a truck that looks that good can get to work too.

Your right about the 2500 lbs I'm sure. I know a large bobcat and trailer tip the scales at around 10,000.
I'm glad to hear it pulled OK. I'm sure a 1000 mile run would be no fun at all! But for some short hauls its nice to know it'll do the job!

Yeah, I made sure to get a small Bobcat, both for the truck's sake and for what I needed to do :).

I actually think what you have there... is heavier.
