Ok guys, Sorry but I plan on writing a detailed how to when all this is said and done.

This week I had a buddy turn down my Intake bearing retainer to 4.8005 so it would fit my bell housing. (would have done it myself but my shops lathe is toast) Now I need the gasket that goes between that and the transmission. I went to my local parts store and myself looked through the parts books and cant find it. Seems all they have in the books are the autos or everything but the 833, I even looked through the Chevy parts list.

Thanks to "Cribbs 74" I have some bushings that apparently I need if the back of my crank has or has not been machined?

Here is my list of things I have:

Transmission w/ turned down IBR
Lakewood blow proof Bell housing
Clutch fork
Z bar?

318 w/ stock fly wheel set up for stock 727

What else do I need? on the insides. The bell housing is just that, It seems that there is a part that the clutch fork pivots on and I don't have it. Looks like it screws in, is it a ball that clips on to the clutch fork? or does the fork simply rest on it?

Does anyone here have ALL of the clutch linkages from the pedal to the fork? Very interested in a box of all the parts I need.

I ordered a book on ebay about rebuilding performance transmissions. It says the 833 as well, (probably not the od) However, its just a gear different and some linkages. It could help too.

I think I need the 10.5" Clutch however my BH is the 4.8" IBR so a 11" would work? It seems that also because my transmission is the 23 spline.

So again, can I please have a detailed list of what I need and outside of what is better off bought new, do you guys have what I need?

Thanks

Oh yea, I got my AM FM CB with mic, I also have an AM CB without mic, if my AM FM works well, I would be willing to trade or sell my AM, Anyone interested?

www.brewersperformance.com.

Call and ask for Dan, he will help you and has everything you need for very reasonable prices.

I will answer your post better here in a bit.

OK I re-read your post.

In the stock setup you will have a pivot ball for the z bar on the bellhousing. the ball itself threads into the bellhousing. The other side of the z bar fits into another pivot ball that mounts on a reinforcing plate that bolts underneath your floor pan.

Do you have the clutch pedal assy and rod that goes through the firewall and connects to your z bar? If not I can get you the whole assy but it won't be real cheap(or real expensive)

Once again I can't speak with any knowledge about the lakewood bell as I have no experience with it. Brewers performance may be able to help you there. This includes the use of the 10.5 vs 11" clutch and flywheel. Although I still think you will need to go 10.5 due to the spline count like you mentioned. Brewers also has the gasket and seals you need for your bearing retainer real cheap.

The only thing you really should get new is the clutch kit everything else could be sourced from a wrecking yard if you have one. Hope this helps a little let me know what you can't get and I will try and get it here if it's around. Keep at it, you will like the OD. I know I do!

You can get an 11" disc with 23 splines, 1" input shaft... I have one on my 78 van.
The larger 1-3/16", with 18 splines is used for big block 440 and 426 hemi.

So Ive been learning allot the past few days about all of this. A book I bought on Ebay a few weeks ago just showed up. It says "High performance Manual Transmissions" "T10, ST10, T5, A833, Muncie 4spd, Toploader 4spd"

The info on the A833 is dismal at best. There's probably more on the Brewers or Passion web site under "about the 833" then in this book, the book actually talks most about Passions parts and some differences with the different 833's in general then anything about building or rebuilding it. Not the case for the Muncie 4spd which has a detailed rebuild... Can one successfully rebuild an 833 with directions form the Muncie?

Aside from the useful info regarding shifters and clutches, its almost worth sending back.

Is mother mopar doomed to to forever shadowed by the boe tie gang?

I have an Old Chilton's manual that has an OK breakdown of an 833 rebuild. From what I hear the Factory service manual is the one to have though. Did you call Dan at Brewers? I bet they have a good manual they can sell you.

The Haynes manual for "B-van" has about 2 pages on overhaul with pictures. It seems that in the past someone found the same info at a parts supplier (Autozone?) by doing a google search.
