I believe so due to the internal/external balance issue. Everything else should drop right in/on. You can get a resurfaced flywheel from your local parts store for a 360 that should already be correctly balanced for about 70.00 plus core. Or you could go down to the wreckers and pick up a OEM 360 flywheel and resurface it for better quality. Good luck.

I just did this swap and aside from balancing 360 external 318 internal you must count the teeth on your flywheel two get the right one if it is 32 teeth your OK if it is i believe 43 teeth like mine was your looking at BBBIIIIGGG bucks.

Ya that one cost me big bucks and if your looking for the 43 tooth one CENTERFORCE was the only place that has it new even mopar did not have it.

Could you have run the 32 tooth and just used a different starter?

Use your current flywheel and have it balanced with the rotating assembly from the 360. It costs about $125 around here to have it all balanced. I have not found a balanced flywheel for a 360 so if anyone knows of one let me know.

Just for fun I went and looked at Auto Zone using my truck specs except with a 360 engine and the replacement flywheel It pulled up didn't say anything about balance but the picture showed a flywheel that had 4 large irregular sized holes drilled into the back side. My 318 does not have those holes so I assume they are drilled for balancing. Just an observation anyway.

Ok let me rephrase that. A 143 tooth balanced flywheel. All I have found are either 160 tooth(11") or neutral balanced 143 tooth.

The smaller 10-1/2" clutch uses a 130 tooth flywheel, the larger 11" clutch has a 143 tooth flywheel. (Both use the same starter with a different bellhousing to match.)
Also the 360 uses a different right front engine mount.

any ideas why they use a different right front engine mount?
