I dont know if it is the cold weather or something mechanical. When I goto work it is around 40 degress out and my truck has been behaving weird because I
've never seen it do this before. I let it warm up for about 3 minutes and take off not going above 2000 RPM for 6 minutes. Whenever I come to a stop sign to make a left or right turn, or an incline the truck will die as I'm cornering and I have to put it in park and start it up again. During this period I can push the gas pedal all the way down to the floor and the truck will hardly respond and refuses to accelerate.

Once I get going on the highway at about 40 MPH it seems to run like a champ again accelerating and cornering fine like the day it was bought. So I am hoping this is just the cold weather and the truck not being warmed up all the way.

Sounds like a fuel issue... as in not enough.
Maybe plugged filter ... line .... sticking float .... weak/going bad fuel pump.....
Might try giving the carb, where the fuel line connects a few hard raps with a screwdriver handle .... If the float is sticking this will sometimes fix it....

yep, I'm with bherder on this one. Check your fuel filter. Although I wouldn't bash the screwdriver on your carburetor, especially if it's a Thermo-Quad. Wait a minute, isn't your truck fuel injected? I had a friend who had a 87 Ramcharger and it was a throttle-body injected 360. I think if memory serves, 87 was the first year for Injection. If so, then you could have a issue with your electric fuel pump pick up. Anyways, it's really hard to tell without any of us helpers actually being there with you.
