Hey all, I have a quick question for you. Today, the wife and I went and figured out what we want for options on a Crew Cab Sport. With out going over them all, I only have one question: in a Sport, if you get leather seats, is it true that the rear are NOT heated and not true leather?
As far as I can read in the brochure, if you get leather seats in any model or cab configuration the rear seats are only vinyl and only to be heated if you get leather in a Laramie.
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated as soon as possible as we are going back on Monday with our color choice and the deposit.

Thanks in advance

Not sure about the vinyl, but the Sport leather option does not have rear heated seats, I believe you are correct and the only trim level with rear heated seats is the Laramie.

if you go to dodge "build my own", you can sure select leather, in a sport model, AND the leather option comes standard with the heated and vented options.

http://www.dodge.com/hostc/bmo/options.do then click on the "I" (info circle) next to the leather trimmed bucket seats option.

I know I can get leather, but what I'm asking is if it's leather in the backseats or is it vinyl and why can't we get heated seats in the back like the Laramie.

Also, if you goto the Dodge site is does say that heated rear is available on the Sport.
Here's the link, just open the point about the heated rear seats:

So now I don't know what to do, if they are heated I will still get leather, if not I'll just get the standard cloth. Reason being is I have 2 kids that are almost always with me and sit in the back.

So can anyone with a Sport and leather tell me if you have heated rear seats??

I know my 04 didn't have rear heated... and as far as I know, it still isn't offered.

I planned on just adding aftermarket leather and seat heaters later.

The 1500 brochure says that heated second row seats are available only on the Laramie with GJ bucket seats....and it also confirms the back seats are vinyl.

Well after talking to my dealer and digging around, all I can see is what we have already confirmed. That is, Sport can NOT get rear heated seats, Laramie CAN. In both cases it's not actually leather in the rear seats, it's only vinyl. For the family and myself the Laramie isn't an option, we all like the looks of the Sport too much to not get it. Bummer too, because I was really looking forward to the heated wheel and seats.

If it's offered stock... it can always be added "aftermrket". ;)

Couldn't you just buy the mopar heated seat add in and install it in the rear?

or you could buy aftermarket for half price

pull the covers, install the elements wire to 12V and install the switches where you want.

I had them added to the fronts (have a pic of the switches in my garage.) I'll be adding a set in the back shortly.
