Well, I'm new to the forum and new to Magnums. I got my Inferno Red R/T last Saturday morning and have now had it a whole week. I've already put 1500 miles on it and I like it better today than last week. What a car! The performance is incredible, it's as comfortable as my colleague's BMWs & Mercedes & I've averaged above 20 mpg (not driving like Grandma either). Who could ask anything more from a car. Talk about turning heads.... this car attracts attention wherever I go. It's alot of fun! If you've not had the chance to drive one, do it. Once you get in the car you'll have to have one.
I don't know what more to say.... ya'll know the spec's and have seen pictures, just rest assured that the numbers and photos don't do the car justice. I believe this car will be one of the all time classics!!!
Let me know if you have questions, etc. I'm in the Atlanta area but travel the South constantly (for work). I'll be on Florida's West Coast this week. Look for me on I-75 or in St Pete this week.
See Ya!!!

I am looking at trading my quad cab in for the magnum. How much did you get it for out the door? Do you have navigation and all or what?

Thanks,
Brent

Oh yeah, they still do not have them in here in brandon,fl

Okay, so I'm kidding.... the dealer here in Atlanta wasn't dealing at all on the price. I paid sticker, but I suppose the fact that they didn't charge a premium over sticker price is something to be appreciated. The car I got is pretty basic for an R/T. It's got a sunroof, the electronics convenience package and the convenience package 1. I suppose the easier way to say this is to say what it doesn't have. I don't have power passenger, or heated seats or the zoned climate control (those came with the convenience group II). I didn't get the satellite navigation system, but did get the 6 CD changer and Sirius satellite radio. I didn't get the additional airbags, roof rack or cargo organizer. I will be adding Uconnect as soon as the dealer has the parts. Final cost out the door was a little over $32k. I believe quite the bargain. I think the car is about as complete as anyone could want.
If it makes you feel any better; according to the Dodge dealer here there are only 3 in the entire Atlanta area. Thanks!

Awesome pics Dave! Thanks for posting them for our members to see.

I have to say that car looks sharp in red! How do you like the performance and how it handles the curves?

Sorry for the delay in getting back... I've been out all week. I'm glad the pictures posted okay and yes I think it looks great in red. I was expecting one in Magnesium, but the first one the dealer got was Inferno Red. It's grown on me and now I really like it. The car handles like a dream and has fabulous road mannners. I can't wait to get it into the mountains and try some really twisty roads. So far I've got 2600 miles on the car and things couldn't be better. I averaged 22.3 mpg last week in Florida (very close to 25 on the highway). I think the biggest benefit the performance gives me is confidence. I don't have to worry about how long an entrance ramp is or whether I've got room to pass. I'm not driving like a fool, I just feel better knowing that when I need power, I've got plenty. The really important number performance wise is not the 340 HP, but the 390 ft lbs of torque. It feels wonderful to step on the gas and feel the car move..... In short, I love the car!!!! Thanks!!!

great to hear you're lovin' the car so much! :)
I have only seen it in black and red so far, think I want it in Magnesium...

alot of people look at the hp # of any car and go wow or that sucks! but they don't look at the important #... how much torque is there!

My wife really likes the red one also. I've been waiting to see one in the dealer to checkout. Might be a potential buy.

What were u driving before the Magnum? I want to get my wife into one of these and now is my time to talk her into it(gas $$) if I'm ever gonna get her out of her Tahoe. Anyone that has sat in the new Magnum, how does it feel height, visibility wise in comparison to the Durango, Tahoe, etc.? Is the Multi-displacement on all RT's?(I think it is but some of the sticker's on inventory searches read differently) One more question, what fuel grade is required or recommended? I can't wait to drive one of these things!!

Welcome to Dodgetalk!

I would think the fuel recommendation would be at least 89 if not 93 octane but also you will be getting in the mid to low 20's compared to your mid to low teens when it comes to MPG between the Magnum vs. Tahoe.

Thanks for all the feedback.... Believe it or not, I was driving a Saturn before the Magnum.... yeah, I know.... anything's a huge step up from that. I drive alot (@ 70k per year) so the Saturn was supposed to last until the SR-8 concept became a reality. About 1 week before the dealer got the first Magnum (after I'd put down my deposit sight unseen) the Saturn spun a rod bearing at 160k miles.... so much for long term reliability. Anyway, the disposable car lasted long enough and now I'm back to higher quality cars. I've owned everything from Grand Cherokees and Volvo sedans to Japanese imports. My favorite was the Jeep until the Magnum. I still can't find a weakspot. I'm due for my first oil change (3300 miles) tomorrow. We'll see how the dealer service goes. I have pretty high hopes that they'll do me right! Thanks again!

How did u get one of these before June 17th? What's up w/ this June 17th unvieling? Does not make since for a dealer to tell me they have a car in the showroom for $32K and can not or won't sell it. As for the dealer that had a 4K availability mark up on a SXT, that is the craziest thing I ever heard. He will end up w/ the largest inventory of Magnum SXT's in the country at that rate.

That car/truck is bad ass!!!!!!!!!!! I test drove on ethe other day. 129mph with no problem. I had to slow down due to traffic on the freeway. That car has sooooooooo much power. It also drove fantastic. It would be cool to own but unfortunately it wont fit into my family. oh well ......

My dealer (Gwinnett Place Dodge, Duluth GA) told they expect to have a basic inventory of Magnums by Mid August and a full inventory by Mid September. I was VERY lucky in getting mine early. I put down a deposit and picked out one of the Magnums the dealer expected to have by May 10 (Monday). They had a VIN and a complete build sheet on a Magnesium R/T equipped just the way I wanted. They called me the Thursday before my car was supposed to arrive and said they had a Red R/T if I'd like to look at it, but not drive it. I did. The factory apparently didn't send some sort of programming CD with the car so it couldn't be driven on Thursday or Friday. I showed up at the dealer on Saturday morning, drove it and then they told me they didn't expect my car until late in June at the earliest. Apparently there was some sort of issue with the moon roof equipped cars and that was going to delay delivery. As I needed a car and had put down a deposit they offered me the Red Magnum. I took it and couldn't be happier! The only problem relates to ZMAN's post. The car's almost too fast. I was in Alabama on Wednesday and got stopped by a State Policeman... The standard question.... "do you know how fast you were going?" I was doing a little under 90 without realizing it. I answered no, & he told me "way too fast, but that's not why I stopped you, I just wanted to look at your car." Well, chalk one up to good luck and great looking car! Thanks for reading!!!

Thats one beautiful car, I'm planning to get one similar to it (not red) in about a year to a year and a half. I still havent seen one on the road here in the Houston area though.

I have yet to see one on the road myself, but I have seen then at the dealerships that are local to me. Its a very VERY sharp car!

Did anyone else see it on Spike TV yesterday? Was I wrong or did I hear them say 0-60 in 5.5seconds!?!?!?! They also did a mean smoky burnout with this STATION WAGON! :D Thats one badass car!

My friend at the dealership has called me twice when he has had one in, and both times I didnt make it down there in time to drive the thing. They are all pre-sold units coming in at this point, he says.

Keep trying! I've sen a few at the local dealerships in Atlanta and actually saw an ad yesterday morning in the Nashville, TN paper that a dodge dealer had Magnum(s) in stock. They're coming. I don't think that it'll be too long until there's lots to choose from. See Ya!
