Will 17" rims from a 2G or 3G Ram fit on a 4G ram. I am not sure if the backspacings have remained the same. Thanks!

I have a 3rd gen ram, and have some 4th gen wheels I am going to put on it. Jackal has put 20s from a 3rd gen on his 2009 truck, and they fit using the stock tires, which are the same size anyway. Therefore, I would be under the impression that 17s from a 3rd gen should be able to fit without a problem and are interchangeable. 17s from a 2nd gen I don't know.

I have a 09' quad cab 4x4, took the custom 17" wheels off my 02' quad cab put them on the 09'. Tires are Nitto-295's. A little rub on the wheel well liner
when the wheel is "hard over", hardly noticable. 17" Rims with the Nitto's blow away the look of the 20" rim/tire that came with truck. I do prefer more rubber than rim!
