Hey to all my fellow 04 D owners.. This is really F**** up. I went yesterday to pick up a frinds new 04 D. On the way home 178 Miles.... TOTAL ON THE TRUCK,,, we hit a dip in the road at highway speed like all the other cars and trucks around us...and.... BLEW OUT.. what look like the upper control arm or upper ball joint :VHOT: Almost rolled the dam thing. A brand new truck. And Im supposed to get my new D , this comming saturday. Gives me second thoughs. What the hell..I was under the impression they corrected the ball joint problem with this new style truck. Any Idea how to handel Dodge in this instance... :help:

That is pretty messed up. I would have it towed back to the dealership and have them fix it immediately as well as reimburse you for the tow. Acutally, it should be free if you use the roadside assistance thingy. I know that cars are mass produced and they all can't be built perfect, but damn, I just don't think that should happen. Although I can say for myself, I've hit some rough spots at highway speed and(thank God), nothings fallen apart....yet. Hopefully it will never happen to anyone else, but thanks for the heads up and hopefully the dealership will take care of things promptly. Also, don't let them give you any crap. Hope is all turns out well.

Hi James

Well.. Dodge did do the right thing with some coaching. They fix the truck with a replacement upper arm asm. in 2 days, and told my friend to get a rental untill they repared the veh. I do agree, It should not have happen with a brand new truck, but in all, (thankfully no one got hurt) and the truck has no external damage. I pick my 04 D. LTD on this saturday. I called the dealership and they said they would inspect the front end before delivery. So I cross my fingers from here. Thanks for the well wish, I will pass it along. Good luck with yours. Hey cross your fingers for me :D

How could they have aligned that truck, it sounds like the nut spun off
