just wondering what is the MPG on your 98 intrepids 6cyl 2.7 engine. I have seen some sites that claim 18mpg city, 28mpg highway but that is not what my car is getting. Of course I have no actual way of checking the MPG but I can see what I'm getting per tankfull and it's not even close. Just wondering how bad my car is compared to other 98 intrepids out there.
thanx,
jlsoto

I get 24-26 with my 3.2, buddy claims to get 28 -30 on the highway with his 2.7. City about 23 for the 2.7, and 18 for my 3.2.

i have a canadian intrepid, the chrysler version. i have a 2001 es with the 3.2 and i regularly get 30-35 mpg highway, about 25 in the city. why is there such a big difference? it does have 285 000 kilometres which is about 175000 miles i believe

I have a 2001 ES with a 3.2 and get 19 in the city with AC and 20 city when temps are below 80 and I can run with just the sun roof open. I have yet to take it on a long Highway trip, longest so far is 120 round trip and got an average of 26 uphil from 800 feet to 4,000 feet and down hill back to 800, doing about 85 both ways. If I reset the heads up display for the average MPG, I can get 27 on the 7 miles of Highway between work and home.

It was a nice night and I liked what the radio was playing, not much traffic so I would make the 14 mile loop between where I get on the 55 MPH and off at the 45 MPH section of SR 95. Kept resting and using cruse control, 45 MPH and no red lights = 27 average, next loop, 55 same 27, next loop 65 same 27 finaly at 70, it droped to 25 and at 80 24 MPG. If I had a longer streach I think the 80 and 70 would not be so bad, it is getting up to that speed for 7 miles and then slowing down and getting back to speed that was killing it.
