Well, the end of a crappy day came with all the wheel studs sheering off and my wheel passing me on the freeway. We are ok, but other than a couple knocking sounds before it happened, I am at a loss. The tie rod is still attached, so the only thing I can think of is the wheel bearing/hub assembly locking up. We will have it towed home tomorrow and start replacing the hub and brake disc and check for more damage. I know the fender is damaged, but it was dark and I'm not sure if anything else is screwed. This is a 1996 Grand Caravan w/ 3.3ltr. Please help with any suggestions. Thanks

Did you replace that tire earler? If so who ever did it did not tighten the lugnuts all the way. If its a new RIM it happened beacuse the center hole was to small. I know i dont it on my 95 caravan .Bought a rim from the junkyard and the center was small and not the LARGE one.

I put new rims/tires on it 6-8 months ago and I didn't have any problems at that time. So your saying the wheel wasn't hubcentric to my hub? They were chrysler wheels, but that may be the issue. We had a knock from the front for the past month, but we checked the lug nuts and they were tight and the shop across the street checked it out last Monday and said the knock was the sway bar being loose.

Ya hub center may of tricked you alot of the 93-94s center hubs where bigger you can make them tight but over a small amount of time they loosen cus the hubs. Take off the other one make sure its not 2 step center hub. What i mean is the bearing cover has a lip then there is another lip next to the rotor and Drum.
