anybody know how I can improve the rear end on a 2004 4.7???? trying to improve performance.

what do you mean? like gears or like more rear wheel hp. You could do either. If you want to change gears....4.10's seem to be the most talked about around here. They seem to give the best performance with out killing MPG.

from what I know the daks have 9.25 and the rams have the 8.5

Well I think you can get either rear in either truck....all depends on how it is built.

reverse, all rams have the 9.25, none have the 8.5. dakotas come with both, depending on the package.

huh, do you know what package came with the 9.25. I have the 9.25 so i'm wondering what I have that came with that rear end. Is it the tow package?

I'm not sure how would I find out what differenceal I have??? It's a 2X4, 5 speed automatic.

Do you have 20s? If so then its a 3.92 automatically. Your question is a bit vague. What all do you want to do?

Look in the bottom of the glove box and it will tell you your diff and gear ratio. I believe joba wants to know how to improve lowend power acceration, and 4.10's would be great for that. If you have a 4.7 in it, most likely it is the 9.25" "corp 9" as they call it in there.
