I get a really bad grinding noise when i make a left or right hand turn.its coming from the right side front. when i looked under the van the sway bar link had snapped off i put a new one on and it still males a grinding noise when i turn,(no noise when going straight).
2001 dodge caravan 3.4L.

there is no 3.4 should be 3.3 or 3.8
it shound like a bad cv joint. look under the van on the side you are hearing the noise and check both cv boots and if either are cracked or torn the greese has come out and now the joint is worn/damaged.
just replace the entire half shaft.
if the boots arent cracked it could also be the brakes, wheel bearings, or ball joint. all very common on these vans.
if the cv boots look ok jack up the side that is making the noise with the van in neutral and spin the wheel. if there is any grinding feeling check the brakes and wheel bearing.
try to move the wheel at 12 and 6 oclock to see if there is any play and whach the ball joint for movement.
