need some advice

i own a '00 neon. yesterday my wife was in an accident with it and totaled the vehicle. she rear ended a pickup at roughly 30-35 MPH. she is fine, but the airbag didnt inflate. from my understanding an airbag will inflate in a 10 MPH collision. the vehicle is still under extended warranty, it currently ha 96k miles and is covered til 100k. so what do i do? i hate to think that nothing can be done and my wife could have been severly injured because of this defect. i am going to be buying a new car in the very near future to replace the neon and frankly, im scared to buy another dodge...

open to any suggestions

where she hit a truck did the front bumper go under the truck or did it hit the truck square? the senser that pops the airbags is in the bumper and if the bumper went under the truck then the bags would not pop, I have seen this many times
