Our 2006 GB did a wierd thing today with the Mrs ...
The power liftgate / tailgate went berserk.
The problem turns out to be (after I got home) that hte bolt
or torx bolt that attaches the powered arm to the liftgate had
fully backed out.
She said it went through some serious noises - opening and or
closing a lot - after she pushed the button at the local Kohls.
The only harm is a pretty big gouge in the interior plastic near
where the bolt attaches to the hatch. The bolt does not appear
stripped, but there are a fair amount of metal shavings attached
from somewhere.
Wierd - I'm not gonna fix it, but show it to the dealer and let them
correct it for the record (long record), while they take another
stab at the front end crunch, maybe monday.
Oye! I think it heard me talking about a toyota ...
Has anyone else had this happen? We took it to Grandma's house
Christmas, and there were no signs of complaint, groan or creaking
while using the liftgate both power and manual operaton were fine.
