The oil light has been coming on in my caravan at idle speed in drive if you put it in neutral it goes off or any speed above idle its off, Has anyone ever had this problem or have a solution.

Sorry i left that off my original post! Yes i did check the oil level it was fine. I was thinking sending unit until i put it in neutral and the light went off that shouldnt affect anything electrical

It could be the result of using oil that is too low in viscosity or it could be an internal issue with the engine such as worn bearings or oil pump. A gauge would help sort things out.

sending unit. Unplug the the sending unit and if oil come out replace the sending unit. I have had bad ones on the last two with a 3.3 engine i had. Never had problem with 3.8 sending unit yet.

My friend's Neon has a similar problem. We replaced the sending unit and it didn't help, then after talking to him some more I found out that the engine is idling low and rough when it happens, usually with the engine under load-- in other words, we had to fix the problem causing the low/rough idle.

In your case, it could be the sender, but an extremely low idle can drop the pressure enough to turn on the light too.
