The Hemi includes a Multi-Displacement System that shuts down 4 of the 8 cylinders at cruise. Chrysler claims fuel economy, 17 City/25 highway, is 20% better than without cylinder deactivation.

It's on the Magnum as well. I already have an appointment to demo one at my local dealer as soon as one of those bads boys arrives. :D

I can tell you from experience that the 300c is one powerful four-door!

When you test-drive one take the traction control off and mash the gas.

Hi gang, new to the forums...

I haven't seen any info on how the MDS actually works... does it always cut the same 4 cylinders out? wonder how this effects cylinder/engine wear?

I test drove both the Magnum and 300 yesterday. Very sweet rides! The Magnum had the 3.5 v6 and the 300 had the HEMI. The 3.5 wasn't too bad at all, but when I got into the 300, nothing like the smooth effortless power of a v8!

I am planning on getting a Magnum RT in the next few months... to replace the PT Cruiser that I have..

I test drove a red R/T yesterday and fell in love. I am going to advertise my F-350 and if it sells, I will order one. I don't need a large truck anymore because I sold my Bonneville streamliner and trailer. The one I drove is loaded but does not have the trailer package which I want and it has the sunroof which I do not want. They offered it to me for $31,500 with a sticker of over $34,000. A very sweet vehicle and I want one. Oh yes, my first post on this site.

its going to be on the 05 Grand cherokee also, i also wouldnt doubt it if they put it on the 05 rams, dont be too shocked if you swing by and see the sticker say 17-18mpg city and 22-27highway, if i see a hemi that says that i'll trade mine in within 10 mins of seeing that sticker lol.

Am i the only one who is concerned about this technology??? I feel this will be trouble in the long run. Does anyone remember the 4,6,8 cadillac engines? durring the gas chrisis GM developed this motor that would run on 4,6, or 8 cylinders in order to save on gas. those engines were nightmares. I know techonology is better these days, and R&D is a major part of auto manufacturing, but i would like have the computer reprogramed to bypass that function. I am not concerned with fuel economy, im sure i will have the pedal burried the majority of the time anyway.

Its mechanically controlled not computer controled. This is the reason why it works so well, simplicity! Awsome.
