Hey,new at forums-I replaced a BCM on my 96 Caravan and now transmission appears to be in some kind of limp mode-only first gear and no console lights till I actually put it in gear? Do I call an exorcist?? HELP-

Dunno why the BCM was replaced or if you still have the old one but if the tranny was shifting fine with it, guess you could plug it in to see if the tranny shifts Ok again.
If it does, i'd think that'd indicate something wrong with the new one. If it doesn't then good bet something else is amiss.
If you are in limp mode, you prob (or should) have second gear & be able to get up to ~ 80 clicks but with lotsa revs.
Was anything else done other than the BCM? If not then prob points to the replacement BCM, but suppose maybe not. Can happen that when fixing one thing, something else unrelated picks that time to act up.

It does seem strange that the BCM would have anything to do with the trans, but you never know the way all the computers share information. I have three questions for you:
1) Why did you replace the BCM?
2) Is the replacement new or used?
3) Was the replacement BCM properly programmed for your vehicle?
