My 2004 Neon SXT only gets 220 miles to tank. Even after driving around with the low fuel light on, I can only put 9 gallons of gas at the most in the tank. The car is supposed to have a 12.5 gallon tank. Does anyone else have this problem?

My 2004 tank light comes on any ware from 220 to 260 mile depending on the type of driving. According to the book it should come on at about 1/8 of a tank. The book also says that when you get down to ½ of a gallon the light will start blinking. I have driven 75 extra miles after the light came on and had the gage well below empty and have yet to get down to that ½ gallon mark. I have gone over 310 mile on a tank and still not put more them 11 gallons in it. The best mileage I’ve gotten so far has been 29. That was ¾ highway ¼ city. The car only has 2,500 miles on it and the mileage is improving as I get more miles on it. It is also an automatic.

my gas light comes on at a 1/8 of a tank so i think mine dose pretty good...i get about the same gas milage as you guys and mines a 95 and i do good on gas even when im racing around and having fun it dose great i love it...
