I got this tach froma friend and it has two wires coming from the shift light and it has the (red,green, and ground wire) and the two more wires that looks like a positive and negative coming fromt he tach. I know how to wire the tach but am confused about the other two wires and shift light.. PLEASE HELP

Don't know about the shift light, but besides the wires to make the tach actually work, you've probably got two wires for a light bulb. Illuminate the tach when the headlights are on...

Yep, the tach should have three wires for it (pos, neg & a green one) One of the wires from the shift light need to be tied in with the green wire from the tach, then you just have to adjust when the light comes on, the other from the shift light should be the ground for it and the last two wire are the ones that Bruce was referring to, they hook up to your dash lights (1 pos. and 1 neg) to illuminate the tach when the dash is lit up
