Ok I havent drove the truck for a good month or so.. I was going to fire it up to paint it but Ive got nothing.. Battery is fully charged and so on .. When u turn the key over I get nothing no tick click not anything.. The dome light doesnt even dim out..
This is suppose to be a 80 . I was told that 80's should have the tilt wheel with the igniton having a rod going down through the coloumn to a switch.. THis truck does not have this.. No tilt column On the firewall next to where the harness that enters the cab there is a igniton silienoid. on the side of the main plug for the harness above the silenoid is a 2 plug plastic thing bolted to the firewall What is that? The bottom plug for it was hanging out and where is enters looks a lil burnt up.. I dont have a wire tester around the truck I need to get one but I replaced the relay over by the battery that has the starter and ingition on it.
Any advice is greatly appreciated and Im sure my scribbles are hard to understand sorry.:help:

You need to check your fusible link from the sounds of it. Also make sure none of the connectors are shorting out in that plastic plug you mentioned, not sure what it is, don't think there is one like that on my '72 truck. Do you have power to the coil when the key is in the run position?

No power to the coil.. I jumped the relay and ran juice to the starter with the key in the on position and the truck jus turned over no power..

Are you the one that was swapping out the collum a couple of days ago as well? Anyways Dodge fusible links are famous for going out, it sounds like you lost the one that goes to your ignition system.

No I didnt switch columns.. Under the hood the lil cluster of wires thats there doesnt have a fusible link in it.. Any suggestions where one is I didnt notice any under the dash.

There should be one near the starter relay, or where the firewall junction is, you may have to go from the cluster back to the source, they are also not always marked very well, usually with a black tag.

And this jus gonna be a solid black piece of plastic in the wire.

It looks more like a black plastic/rubber tag attached to the wire. More fusible links are 3-6 inch long section of wire that is designed to burn up at a certain current (Amp) rating. You usually can't tell if it is bad or not just by looking at them, unless they are really burned up bad. It should be visible, not taped up in a harness...

Yeah I dont c any of those.. THis truck was pieced together before I bought it so its hard telling..
I jus noticed that when I have the key on if I turn on the turn signal. The left one works in and out but If I turn it to the right the dash lights the green left and if u look out back both right and left go off at the same time when the right is turned on.. So Im going to pull the steering wheel and have a look.

Yea it sounds like you have some wires crossing somewhere, which could blow a fuse or link. Hard to tell without seeing it. Let us know what you find under the wheel.

Notta.. :( The wires all seem good.. I pulled the inner part of the ignition switch from teh key slave.. And I dont see any bear wires from it.. I tugged a lil cause they have some play from the bottom of the column and no arching noises.. There is quite a few wires to the ignition switch does any one have any idea by color or have a source to which ones are to what? My wife is running in town for some things so shes also suppose to pick me up another wire tester since I cant find mine..

I don't have a wire diagram to look at to help you on what color wire goes where. Is your truck an automatic or manual?

Automatic ...
Does the neutral saftey switch on these have a ground? If so I wonder if there sharing a ground with the turn signals?

The neutral safety switch(NSS) provides a ground to the starter relay when the shift lever is in park or neutral. It does not share anything in common with the turn signals. This should be thru a Dark Green with White stripe wire at the relay. You can pull off the DG/Wh wire at the relay and place a jumper wire from that relay terminal to any ground and try to start it..WARNING...it will start in any gear this way. You can also check for 12volts at the relay on the Orange wire with the key in "START".
Also the 3 position connector on the NSS can fall off or deteriorate and cause a no start.

Where is that located?

Should be mounted on the top of your colum under the dash....

Oh Looked for that on this truck and it isnt there.. the key slave goes to a ignition switch which runs a set of wires down the column and then out to a plug under the dash which then goes through the firewall plug.. On the other side the wires go everywhere and also to a ignition silenoid... Im thinking the ignition silenoid went bad .. But will I still have power to accerories and so on?

You should still have power to the accesseries, here is a pic of your NSS, I have never changed on out on the trucks, so I'm not 100% sure of it location.

The NSS is on drivers side just above Trans oil pan. Have you checked your ground wires? The main one going to engine and the one going to Rad mount? A loose ground can cause this problem.

Neutral saftey switch in on the tranny, it senses whether or not the trans is in neutral (or park), and if not won't let the starter work.
Can you snap a pic of the right side inner fender and firewall wiring? It could be the starter solenoid not grounding properly, I have this problem on my truck sometimes, especially when it sits. Usually I can stamp on the floor hard or bang the wheel and get it to work. Also I still have juice to the ignition on mine when it does it. Also check the connectors under the dash from the column to the dash harness, these like to get corroded or burnt up on the heavy wires (like the ignition wire).
