Not the wiring, but just the insulator which allows the harness to be plugged into the back of the heat/AC switch. It offers the three female slide connectors at least a fighting chance of not getting together before it burns all the way through as mine has done. I have plenty of OE slide connectors (from NAPA, with the little barb on the back to hold 'em in place!) but no good plastic insulator.

Any suggestions as to a source for this type of stuff?

If not, would anybody take pity on me and mail me an extra one which they might have sitting around?

Jeff

Are you talking about the black hard plastic housing with the three slots for each female connector? The one that plugs into the blower fan switch?

I'm pretty sure I have my original one from when I overhauled my heating system, you're welcome to it. I replaced it with a new Echlin one I got at Napa, only costs a few bucks.

Looks like they still have the same basic thing here, except what I got just had the three-terminal housing and the three wire leads, this appears to be slightly different:

If you still want my old one, it's yours.

Also, if you want to keep that new one from melting, along with protecting the new blower control switch you are putting in, just don't run it on high.
Keep it one notch down, it'll last forever.

This sounds like another area that could stand to be upgraded with a pair of relays...

You gonna have to make the truck bigger to have room for all the relays, Bruce.:D

Heck, I've got a whole `nother fender well with nothing bolted onto it! ;)

I think for a blower motor, I'd just use those cute little sugar-cube relays.
I used one of those on my electric fan, and it seems to be holding up just fine... Maybe one day, I'll get one of those 'power centers' like you have ... Stare at it for a few months ... then replace all my Gawd-awful-ugly stuff, with cute little mini van stuff... :D

I added a relay between switch and resistor on both my Power Wagons. Just need it on wire for high speed. You can run it on high all day without overheating.

Thanks, guys.

Since I am sor of "simple" when it comes to wiring-in relays, can anyone provide a basic schematic diagram of how the relay circuitry for that blower relay would look?
