You're well into it, looks like.

Your undercarriage looks virtually identical to my '73 (I just removed my bed and reconditioned everything rear of the cab).

How are the driveshafts? Splines worn?

What are you using for paint on the frame?

Lookin good Ryan, You or your dad or grandfather have a set of doors kicking around up thier for Dodge truck ? I need 74-80 doors because mine have door panels. I guess that would be the correct years....

Hey Dan, I don't think we have anything. The doors you are looking for would be the 75-80 style with the receased area by the door handle. I am actually looking for a 72-74 drivers side door for this truck. I will keep my eye out for some though, and let you know if I find anything.

I haven't posted any updates on here in a long time. So I thought I would do so. I have the truck completely stripped down to the frame, most of the frame has been sand blasted and primed. I set the body back on the frame loosely just move it around. I will be finishing up the frame very soon, painting it, installing disc brakes on the dana 44 axle, and putting in the 5" Superlift Kit. I also sold the stepside bed and picked up a real decent regular 6 ft. bed. Here is a pic. of the body just loosley-setting back on the frame for now.

I took my stock gauge cluster, painted the needles red and installed white face overlays. I repainted the gauge bezel black and the trim outlining in silver.

Are you doing this work alone? Your making good time. What is the casting number are your 8 3/4? Also what ratio and is it a Sure Grip? The truck also looks better with the new bed.

I like the work you have done...even on the guages, Bruce does this as well. Bruce I did not notice yours saying Dodge on them...that's a nice addition.

Yep all work is done by me. Its is a 489 case with 3.91 open. I like the new bed better too! I love the body lines on the 72-80 dodge trucks, and with a stepside bed the lines stop after the cab. So that is why I wanted the regular bed. I plan on painting the truck yellow and bellow the body line will be black with an orange macho power wagon stripe.

I had the red "Dodge" decal made at a decal shop for a custom touch. I think goes good with the red needles.

340, I just left a 1973 go for a little bit of nothing that had a 8 3/4 with a 489 case, posi and 3.91 gears. I will likely regret that someday like eveything else. That's a good one.

I like the fact you are building a 318 as well. What are you doing the disc brake conversion with? I've heard an early eighties Bronco makes a good donar for this conversion. Sound right?

I am using brakes from a 81-85 Dodge truck, I didn't know about using the Bronco brake parts.

I sent out my door handles, mirror bases, Power Wagon hood badges, and "DODGE" hood letters to be re-chromed. And here is the results:

Any updates? Spent some time doing a little resto work on my dash bezel last night and thought of your build.

who did the chrome work?

Ryan_340

The chrome was done by Orange County Plating in Orange, Ca. They are very reasonable, have fast turn around time, and excellent quality.
