Well, just as the title says I have a few problems with a 93 caravan I just bought. The first is the gauge cluster, which I read about on here, I also have a 95 caravan with a gauge cluster that works are these swappable?

The second problem I have is the engine stalls when you put it into park or drive unless you let it warm up for about 10 minutes. When your stopped at a stop light it idles EXTREMELY low. I don't know if it makes a difference, but the engine is out of a 94 ( writing from the wreckers is still on the engine ).

Look for disconnected / missing / broken vacuum hoses, that rough running sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere, and with it being an engine swap, I wouldn't be surprised.

K, I checked for vac hoses, wiring ,etc...still the same. If I put it in first it doesn't stall it drives. This is DIS so what about computer compatibility? will the 93 computer run a 94 engine properly? OR is it possible the timing is off?

I attached a picture ofthe back of the gauge cluster. I dont see the bad solder spots on there, however up in the left hand corner it looks like a broken/missing wire? Can anyone tell me if this is supposed to be connected, it looks like it is. W1 has a wire crossing it, however W2 looks like its broken ( like a fuse thats been blown ). I'm going to try the cluster from my 95, however I'd prefer to put this one back in the 93 since this has the oil gauge on it and my 95 just has an idiot light.

Upate : Swapping gauge clusters worked fine, now its just the stalling problem ( well not such a problem once the vans warmed up, it stops )

Vacuum leaks generally cause a fast idle in my experience. Mind you, with computer controlled FI, the computer can sometimes mask problems by making its own adjustment to compensate dfore something like a vacuum leak
i would look in two areas
the first is the idle air control
the second is the coolant temp sensor

ok...so there should be no difference between the years for the computer?

How do I test the IAC or the temp sensor...I'll look at them in the morning.
