I have found the source of the front end "clunk" on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. I have replaced the stabilizer bar bushings and end links. That didn't fix the problem. I then thought that it must be a rack-and-pinion issue.
This morning, I had my wife turn the steering wheel to replicate the clunk while I listened.
The clunk is being caused by the front coil spring rotating. It appears to be in a bind and then breaks free. The top plastic assembly where the strut mounts to the body appears to be turning too. On the passenger side, neither the top assembly nor the spring rotate/turn.
How do I fix this problem?
