Just today this started. I will be driving, 90% of the time, when I hit the brakes, my fuel light dings and the gas guage drops down to 3/4 a tank to 1/2 a tank and raises back up to full almost immediatly. A couple times it just did it while driving, not slowing down. The van has a full tank, I just filled it yesterday at QuickTrip, I may have drivin about 20 miles since then. Has anyone had this problem before? I don't want to just disconnect anything to circumvent the dinging, I want to actually fix it.

My guess would be a bad sending unit (attached to fuel pump in the gas tank), I had this issue with my '96 Caravan and '88 BMW 750 and changing the sending unit (I actually changed the fuel pump with sending unit attached in the Caravan asw I was already inside the tank) and that solved my problem.

Hi there my 97 DGC does the same thing. It only happens sometimes mainly happens if I am pulling my camper. Sometimes if I touch the brake pedal the radio lights will go out also. Sometimes if I turn the left signal on the lights in the radio also flashes with the signal. I dont worry about it, I just keep driving.

Ok, I'm ready to bypass the warning chime... anyone know how? I read some stuff on the newer models, but I don't think the same applies to mine. I hear my dinging somewhere near the fuse panel by the parking brake... can it be unhooked, where is it, and how hard is it to do. I'm on a LONG trip, 2 weeks, and it dings every 5 seconds until i'm about below a half talk of gas...
