Seems to me that this new motor even with the low miles has less Pep than it did before I swaped out the engine. It seems to me like it has a hessitation around 26-2700 rpms. Or a so called dead spot.
Before the engine change it seemed to be a heck of alot more responsive under 2500 rpm clean thru to 7000. Now the car seems to hit a dead spot and it suffers as compared to before. Which seems odd to me seeing that the engine has over 100K less miles. Whats the deal?
My check engine light is on for the DS o2 sensor and the car wants to emit a light smoke if it idles long. If I drive with any amount of throttle the car does not seem to smoke. My freind noticed a single puff of smoke from my exhaust when I down shift and get on it. Sitting still at idle the car will start to smoke just a little and the longer it sitts the more it smokes. To a certain point. It's not by any means an oil issue. It smells more of a Gas/Water mixture not to mention it will burn your eyes if you stand in it. Like I said it only does it at idle rather im in motion or not. If it idles more than a couple minutes it begins to smoke or steam rather. OH and it's not lost a drop of coolant.
I hope it's as simple as getting a new cat or 02 sensor. What do you all think?
