I have a 05 neon and the wheel bearings keep going bad and I had to replace the same side twice last month. I know this isn't normal and wondering if anyone else had this problem?

I've heard you have to tighten them just right. Too loose or too tight will cause them to wear out extremely fast. Are you changing them or is a mechanic?

I could be wrong but with a name like Peeches Id say there is a Mechanic doing the work. LOL

I can't see how being a little loose or a little tight would cause them to go bad. Long as there isn't any slop. Some people have that trouble with Advanced or Autozone wheel bearings. My neighbor went thru 4-5 wheel bearings on his Cheby s10 before it finally held up.
It could also have something to do with the way they are installed. Do you know the mechanic who done the bearings (if any). Im sure that if they beat the bearings into the hub it would have some effect on them, as opposed to being pressed into the hub the right way.
If it were myself and I was getting this trouble. I might opt for a bearing and hub assembly that is already assembled from the factory. You can buy them that way you know. Instead of replaceing just the bearings replace that hub also and see what that does for you. Maybe the hub is shot and causing you greif. Hard to tell. Good Luck!

Hello My name is Peeches but the mechanic is a male that was putting them in for me. The bearings were taken off a total of two times finally I got the right one. The bearings were pressed in at a machine shop. I also had a warranty on them for free work so that was no problem with that. The first wheel bearings did come from Auto zone and Kragen. The job finally got done right. Thanks I'll keep my fingers crossed.
