Hi Guys,
I hope you can help me out, I've read hundreds of posts, and have done a lot of work and still at a loss.
I have an intermittant off idle stumble. If I jab the throttle in neutral, it will sometimes accelerate smoothly, sometimes stutter / hesitate (maybe 3 or 4 out of 10 times), and sometimes backfire (maybe 1 out of 20 times). I have not narrowed down any engine or air temperatures that make it worse or better. So far I have changed the plugs and wires, air filter, fuel filter, cleaned throttle body, put in injector cleaner (the expensive dealer stuff), and checked for codes (no codes) using my handheld OBDII scanner. There is no change.

I have checked the battery voltage (about 12.7 with engine off, and 13.8 with engine running) and it should be fine.

Can someone please give me an idea of where to go from here?? What would be the most common failure for these engines?

Thanks in advance!!

Just guessing here... blockage in exhaust?

It was backfiring and hesitating like crazy today. I replaced the coil pack and it instantly ran smoother. I jabbed the throttle a dozen or so times, I can't get it to hesitate or backfire, so I guess it's probably fixed! I think my next plan of attack would have been a camshaft sensor. I'll write back if it didn't fix.
