Engine Code Sp0720 Speed Senor (transmission)

Hi.

My parents have a 1998 Dodge Ram Van and the check engine light is on. My dad took the car to a local mechanic to pull the codes. Code SP0720 came up which is the speed senor. The mechanic also said it could be the transmission. Should we try replacing the speed senor or do we need to take the van to a transmission repair shop.

The code is actually P0720 - this guy had the same prob on his Dakota, read it but I'd suggest you just replace that sensor anyway. Do it yourself and save some cash - http://www.obd-codes.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1637
