I was going to install an amp and subs in my Avenger, but I'm actually pretty happy with the stock stereo... I did buy the part needed to hook up the amp to the stereo... I'll find the part and come back to ya and give ya the details on it...
Basically what I would do is install the amp in the trunk along with the subs. Now you can run the wires along the door sills at the bottom of the floor. You can prop up the plastic and put it under so it is hidden. You can run it all the way along on the driver side and underneath the carpet under the gas pedal is a small grommet you can fish the wires through and run the power wire all the way up to the battery. Put the ground wire somewhere on the passenger side on the trunk. Make sure you sand off the paint so it has a good connection. Run the remote and sub wires along with the power wire, and instead of fishing them through the grommet put them to the back of the stereo.
You should be all set. Sorry I don't have any pics, but I haven't done it to my own Avenger. I did it to my jeep, but the thieves pretty much stole everything when they broke into it, haha...

I thought that the battery was on the right side fender? I run my power/remote wires seperate from the RCA to limit the engine noise and EI. As for doing the system I am fine. I just never did an install on a car that had the batt. where ours is located. Im trying to find the best location to run the + cable down the right side to the batt. Thanks.

I've got the SXT with the 2.7L motor... Battery is on the Driver Side.
I think on the R/T's it may be on the passenger side, but yes, make sure to run the wires on seperate sides to prevent engine noise. I'm not so sure if the RCA's pick up the engine noise. I always thought that if the ground wire and power wire were too close to each other that picked up the engine noise, but if you can keep them all seperate, the better!

Thanks. you just saved me a buch of time I was about to take the right side apart. The reason you dont want to run the RCA wire near a + is because of the + pulse going throu the wire, the RCA will pick it up and you will hear it in your speakers. as for the ground, you want it to be as short as possible and dosent really have EI or EMI (Electromagnetic interference).

Thanks for clearing up the RCA cable issue. That makes sense now. Ya, I've always kept my ground pretty short. Always making sure to sand the paint away from where you bolt it down. I've done it without sanding, and the subs cut in and out cuz of a crappy ground. Oh well...
Post some pics of your amp install. It would be a great addition to the board! :^)
