Has anybody ever tried to troubleshoot a clockspring? If so how do you go about it? The air bag light on my 2000 ES is going on and off and the dealer said it’s the clockspring. This is a $200 part on this car and I don’t want to spend the money if I don’t have to. My horn and cruise control are working fine so that makes me wonder.

Will the airbag still work if the light is on? If so id say just leave it alone, untill the horn or cruise stops working. in my 95 my aribag light is on and my horn dosent work, but it dosent bother me so i just left it alone.

Light on, Airbag is inoperative, you may wish to run it by Auto Zone and let them code it and see if the SRS fault comes up.
