Hey guys new memeber here, I don't own the van but it is my sons sitters van. A little background may be in the wrong spot if so someone please direct me.
Anyway this thing is a major pain. It use to cut off on em and would get no spark er nothing dodge couldnt find anything so i work at a shop thinking it would be easy i dove in. Replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel pump filter, intake gasket, clean the IAC motor, then eneded up replacing the PCM which fixed it for a while. It started shutting off again now only on the second start does it shut off when you throw it in drive BUT if you start it and letit sit for a few minutes before you drive away its fine ......HMMMM any ideas.

Replace the ASD relay on the firewall near the brake booster.

what exactly is the asd relay never heard of it????does it have to do with the fuel or the pcm. I replaced the fuel pump relay when i did the pump and it had two relays together in it is it the same thing you are talking about?

The ASD (Auto Shut Down) relay supplies power to the ignition and PCM when the key is turned on. It is that second relay right next to the FP relay that you just mentioned.

I don't know if the relays are similar on an 89 and a 93 but I was able to dissassamble my asd relay clean the contacts and re bend the springs.
To confirm that my asd relay was a culprit at one point I just jumped the 2 larger wires and vroom! burble burble sweet.

I had a difficult time locating a new relay so I decided dissassemble it to see how it worked.
Alloro, tell the man how to bypass the relay for testing purposes
