2002 dodge neon downshift clunk ? help

hey . totally puzzled ~ 2002 dodge neon 60xxx automatic . When driving tranny runs smooth . when I slow down and hit 4th into 3rd . I feel a " clunk " fluid level ok . does not do it everytime . can anyone figure this out ?? new brake job .. problem still here . it IS the tranny

I thought all neons had three speed auto's?

NO they changed them a few years ago . it is a 4 speed . they were upgraded " yeh right ~
but I see on carpros that the 4 speeds are having problems too .
