I saw a flat-black Magnum out for drive testing back in mid-January when I was heading into Detroit to the Auto Show. Probably the same one. It had all the logo blacked out, but I could still read them when I got close.
He wasn't driving all that crazy at that time, but probably only because we were stuck in major expressway traffic heading into town on a weekday morning. Kinda hard to drive like a bat out of hell when there's no free room on the road.

The wife and I have been talking about getting a Durango or a QC, but…. I need to see one in person. I think it looks good on the web, and y’all are saying that it looks better in real life….

Just came by a major auto hauler's yard here in Windsor, Ontario where there were several mixed loads of Magnums & 300C's parked. My son says he has been seeing both mixed loads of Magnums & 300C's and complete loads of Magnums only headed state side via the Ambassador Bridge. Will try to post pictures in the next day or two.

Hello,
I would love to get a picture of a red Magnum on a hauler. Even if it wasn't mine I could pretend.

:drivingz: I just got a call from my dealer (Swift Dodge in Davis, CA). He told me they have two Magnums on the lot. Neither are the Hemi but they are cleaned up and ready for test drives. He said one is black and one grey.
If I get my chores done I'll try and take one for a spin this weekend. I'll keep y'all posted.

Saw one at the lot here in Conyers. It is the red with the V6 but man does it look sweet.

They have arrived!
Went by the local dealer yesterday after work, they had 5 in, 3 were red RT's, the other 2 were SXT's. Also had a call on the answering machine when I got home that another dealer had 6 more.
(Northwest suburbs of Chicago, by the way)
I managed to get the first test drive out of one of the RT's!
Quite nice, though quite a bit different from what I'm used to. I currently drive a Subaru Impreza wagon, which looks and feels like a small car from the inside, sitting maybe a bit taller than other cars on the road. When in the Magnum, it almost felt like driving a truck. The seating position is higher, the roof and side pillars combined with the shorter glass give it the perception of a heavy feel, as if there's that much more car wrapped around you. The slightly reduced visibility is not that much of a drawback (it has nice big side mirrors) but the rearward visibility requires a bit more attention than other cars (tiny rear window and a small rearview mirror, heavy tinting on all but the front windows). The interior of the car feels like its almost always in the shade -- the roof overhang over the front of the driver is so far forward, the aforementioned heavy tinting in the back combined with the narrow greenhouse really contribute to this. Fortunately the back seat windows go ALL the way down. And the front dash is HUGE. I'm talking nearly-the-size-of-my-kitchen-table-HUGE. This is a consequence of having the front window so far forward (which also means the rearview mirror is a FULL arms length from the seated driver), but I suppose some concessions must be made in the name of style.
It handles fairly nicely for its bulk (it IS a full-size car, after all), and the hemi engine is almost deceptively fast. Even stomping the gas, it doesn't seem to be half as loud as the 'little' 2.2l in my Impreza. Cornering was decent (body roll was not noticeably more than my Impreza, which is a VERY good thing), but this is also where you feel the full weight of the car in the momentum it carries -- not even the ESP and traction control system can repeal the laws of physics. Speaking of which, I did a test-launch from a dead stop, and while it was able to chirp the wheels, they quickly caught and the car started moving without too much delay (unlike other cars I've driven where doing that results in going nowhere slow until you let off of the gas a bit). Should come in handy on poor traction conditions (I'm thinking snow and ice, which it's a bit too warm to test out on these days), though it would also benifit amateur racers (though I'm not sure how wise it is to encourage them).

:SPIN: Nice Write up enygma_6. I got an up close look at a silver SXT Saturday afternoon. It just made the wait worse. This is one fantastic car. Clearly the the fit of the interior is well done, the doors are solid and the exterior lines are sweet. The back seat easily fits two full grown adults with room to spare. This one was boxed in and not available to drive. Oh well since it wasn't a Hemi it really didn't matter.
Ther were space on the door panels and the dash for equioment not supplied. I presume that the R/t will have all the gadgets in place. :drivingz:
