2002 neon .weird " clunk "

2002 dodge neon ..just purchased of a private seller . nothing but problems . total lemon !
when slowing down for a stop it has a hard jerk with a clunk .
any ideas ?? I have a stick of dynamite if anyone has a match ~ :thatfunny

Does it pull to one side or the other? If so there might be a brake caliper sticking.
I have actually know a guy who installed his calipers on upside down! Read about another person doing it. I would also look into that just to be sure.

If thats not the case I would look at ball joints,tie rod ends and or axles. I seriously doubt its an axle tho.
