Just heard about a new recall in the works because there have been some frames cracking in Vipers used on race courses.
This recall involves welding re-inforcements onto the frame for more strength.
I heard it will be launched this fall as the majority of Vipers are parked in the winter months and this will cause the least amount of inconvenience to these owners this way.

That's one of the reasons I'm getting a new 2002 Viper instead of a new 2001 Viper. (Yeah, there are still a few new 2001 Vipers still around.)

FYI S R K: This was talked about at VCA. It involves ALL 96 - 02 Vipers. If you plan to race yours, have it done.

Looks like you are OK! Still the recommend is to do it anyway if you plan to race. If I was you, I would balance it out. If you do the recall, there goes your warranty!
I would race your 02, but after each race, check for the cracked welds, etc. If they surface, then take care of it.
Once again, just my .02
Let's get these Vipers together! What do you say?
