I love my neon it has been my constant companion for the last four years. Through thick and thin and no trouble at all; until now.
I have a 2004 Neon (black of course) SX. My wife took it out of town the other day and it began overheating at red lights. She stopped and popped the hood and waited for it to cool off. On the way home, it worked fine. As long as she was not stuck at a red light or in traffic.
Obviously cool air is not getting where it needs to go when the car is not moving. I read some threads and checked the fans, neither are spinning however, they do turn by hand.
I went to the dodge dealership and purchased a new relay for the fan and this did not work. The fans are still motionless. When the A/C is on i get a bit of a power surge like the car is trying to turn the fans on but nothing is happening.
I am a full time college student and don't have a lot of money to spend on repairs. What next?
I appreciate all the help and time.
Also, any tips on getting better mileage?
