 We have a 1994 Chryler Intrepid.
The problem we are having with it is that it will all of a sudden die. We go to start it up again and go a short distance and it dies again. We were driving it one night and all the lights went as bright as could be and than the car died and it would shut off and start by it self., we think it might be the computer in it but we are not sure. Any suggestins.

Please email to mary1959@amtelecom.net :help:

Thanks for any help

When you say 'die' do you mean the car loses complete power, as in electric? Or do you mean the car just stalls out, as in the motor turning off.
If its just you motor, try changing the cam and crank sensors on the car. I had a problem where my 94 would go on the highway and then suddenly stall out. I'd pull over and it starts right up after a few minutes. Then drive up the road again and it stalls again. My dad changed the cam and crank sensors and have not had any problems since.

Where do I locate the cam and crank sensors on the 94 3.5L engine

A Haynes Manual comes in handy for that!

It's been a while since I've worked on any Intrepids, but I believe the cranks sensor is located on the bellhousing of the transmission accessible from under the car. The cam sensor? Not sure.

The fact that you said that the lights went extremely bright before the car died tells me that there could be some problems with the charging system. If the voltage spikes too high, then the computer could be damaged not to mention other electrical components.
