I have 2:71 gears in my 1980 d150 club cab, And i want poss with better gears to make to truck move faster. Any help?

should be able to get a trak loc / posi and some different gears to help you jump off the line faster
what size is your rear end ?

So if i have a 12 bolt 9 1/4 rear end and i find gears that are better then mine in a 12 bolt rear end then they will fit or can there be a axle diffrence in size? I have a 1980 d150 and i found a 1985 ram charger with 3.21 trak loc in it. Will everything bolt the same or is there differences? And thank you for the picture it helped..

those should interchange but it would be safer to take measurements to be sure. one thing that might be different is somewhere in 1985 or 1986 the wheel bolt pattern was changed from the 4 1/2" to a 5" pattern so be sure to check that out.

it's 85 that they switched to the 5.5

Yes they did switch to the new pattern in 1985. The axles are the same size from a 80 to a 85 just diffrent bolt pattern. I will putting the truck back together today and will let you guys know how it went. So far it has not been hard, everything just kind falls into place. Thanks for all the help guys..
